Motorsports Canada and Zaeta to sponsor 2014 Flat Track Canada series

Flat Track Canada is excited to announce Motorsports Canada, the North American distributor of Zaeta Motorcycles, as a sponsoring partner of the 2014 Flat Track Canada Championship Race Series. The series kicks off on May 17th at the Paris Speedway Half Mile in Paris, Ontario.

Michael Wells, President of Motorsports Canada Ltd. notes, “The Zaeta is a purebred flat track race bike designed from the ground up to race on the dirt. Zaeta and Marco Belli have seen success on European tracks and now we are very excited to see it run here in Canada. We have been working with Zaeta for almost two years to make this happen and 2014 will be our inaugural Canadian race season with a young rider that is ready to showcase the bikes capabilities. Teaming up with Flat Track Canada, who runs premium events in Ontario, was the natural step for our brand."

“The Zaeta was designed and built in Italy and much of the design was influenced by Graziano Rossi father of Valentino. The Zaeta is a creation of art and with today’s trend in motorcycles any motorcycle enthusiast would drool over this bike. The frame is CNC machined aluminum, with 530 cc TM engine, 190 lb, this bike is simply cool. I am honoured that Motorsports Canada is supporting the Flat Track Canada race series and entering the rare gem into action with a young Canadian racer. This is the first Zaeta in North America and it will attract a lot of attention, which will only help our branding exposure. I simply can’t wait to see this bike in action and I assume others feel the same around the world,” states Aaron Hesmer, President of Flat Track Canada.

Tumblin' Todd's Flat Track Blog: The allure of going south

The Canadian flat track scene has produced some great racers over the years, and that can most likely be attributed to some fantastic bar banging battles that occur every weekend during the summer. Despite the great racing offered here however, there has always been the appeal for our riders to head stateside to try their luck. Whether it is for a race or two or for a whole season and whether your goal is to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Chris Carr or to obtain the status of grizzled veteran John Parker (who seems to be the unofficial mayor of the TT in Medina, NY), Canadians still want to head south to race.

Tumblin' Todd's Flat Track Blog: Summer in Paris

To the untrained observer, most tracks that hold flat track races may appear to be very similar. This is to say that they are all somewhat oval, and they all have four turns. While the size difference between certain tracks should be obvious to most, other characteristics such as track surface may be harder to spot from your seat in the bleachers on a Saturday night.
