The Street Challenge will start at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday morning and races will begin in the early afternoon and go until 4:00 p.m. Street closures will be in effect for Canada Ave., from James St. to Ingram St. and along Duncan St. from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The races are open to the public to watch. Spectators are advised to bring a chair, sun block and water, as it will be a hot one! The best viewing area will be along Canada Ave. sidewalk. The public is encouraged to come into the Pit Area after the race to meet the riders and get a close up view of the bikes (approximately at 4:00 p.m.).
“This event is a tremendous opportunity for the motorcycling community. Recent headlines have focused on a few individuals who have put us in a negative light," said Calvin van Elsakker, president of the Victoria Supermoto Association. "It’s great to see the City of Duncan take this opportunity to showcase a group of committed riders who taking it to the track.”
The Victoria Supermoto Association has been providing a safe and fun atmosphere for motorcycle enthusiasts since 2001. Practice nights are held every Tuesday evening start at 6 p.m. at Western Speedway in Victoria, BC.
In addition to the Street Challenge, kicking off the weekend on Saturday, July 14, there will be a Poker Run, Show and Shine, musicians, North American Stunt Riding Champion Insane Kane Friesen, Maxim model, Carly Ann Rose and much, much more!
