Thousands of women around the world are celebrating their passion for motorcycles today by participating in the 6th annual International Female Ride Day and a number of manufacturers are also showing their support. The event, founded by Toronto, Ontario’s Vicki Gray, invites women around the world to “just ride” on May 4, a concept supported by a number of manufacturers.

Harley-Davidson Canada is doing their part to host organized rides and events hosted by local Harley-Davidson retailers, including Deeley Harley-Davidson, who will be hosting Gray and fellow riders at their Concord, Ontario facility.

According to Claudia Garber, Director of Women’s Marketing Outreach at Harley-Davidson Motor Company, “More and more women from all walks of life are getting into the saddle of their own motorcycles. As a leading motorcycle brand among women, Harley-Davidson is passionate about empowering women to overcome their doubts, find their voice, and in the process, inspire others to do the same. Events like International Female Ride Day provide an excellent opportunity to do this.”

Canadian Kawasaki Motors is also showing their support for women riders by offering $500 off the purchase of a qualifying Kawasaki motorcycle between Friday, May 4 and Monday, May 7, 2012. This is on top of current promotional offers from Kawasaki.

Kymco is also a strong supporter of International Female Ride Day and encourages women riders around the world to take their motorcycle to work, organize a ride with friends, or set the date to finally get your motorcycle license.

What are you waiting for, just get out and ride today ladies and enjoy!
