Kawasaki's new three-year program, running through 2017, starts with an invitational showcase event held in conjunction with the final, traditional season-ending doubleheader of the 2015 MOPAR CSBK National tour at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, August 14-17.
The 2015 event at the famed venue, formerly known as Mosport, will include two Ninja 300 race events, one Saturday, one Sunday. These races will feature more than 20, identically prepared Ninja 300s, ridden by invited VIPs, famous Kawasaki pilots and Canadian motorcycle press.
Then, starting in 2016, Kawasaki will sponsor and support a series for kitted Ninja 300 models at each and every round of the MOPAR CSBK tour, Canada-wide. Amateur competitors can utilize existing Ninja 300 machinery, or build their own bikes using an affordable, limited edition "spec" kit to be made available to series participants.
The required, updated "spec" components for the new Series have already undergone extensive testing at several Canadian venues, utilizing the set-up expertise of Accelerated Technologies boss John Sharrard and Rob Egan of Brooklin Cycle Racing.
New generation Dunlop DOT rubber will be used on the Ninjas developed during the fall of 2014 in conjunction with Canadian Dunlop race tire distributor Pro 6 Cycle. The Dunlop Sportmax Alpha 13 rubber will be available at each National venue, along with the other slick and DOT Dunlop race rubber options.
Canadian suspension constructor Elka will construct rear shock/damper units for the race bikes, with Accelerated Technologies providing a front suspension internals kit.
Famed Canadian pipe builder Hindle Racing has designed a new exhaust and hanger bracket that will be the required component for the series, the Titanium Evolution muffler providing that race bike sound. Hindle Racing will also provide front and rear stands for trackside use with the Kawasaki Ninja 300 race-kitted machines.
Specific tuning maps created for the spec Ninja 300 racers will be provided via a Dynojet Power Commander Five. A Dynojet rear wheel dynamometer is on site at most rounds of the MOPAR CSBK National Championship Series.
Complete race bodywork will come from Hot Bodies Racing in California. Sturdy crash guards for the fairing are part of a kit already designed and supplied by Kawasaki. Further details regarding the series will be released over the coming months, including kit information for riders who want to build their own Ninja 300 racers.
