The Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for the seventh Annual Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Banquet and Reunion scheduled to take place in Montreal on Saturday, November 3, 2012.

Teenager Oscar McIntyre involved in fatal crash at Phillip Island

The start of the World Superbike season took a somber start this weekend in Phillip Island when Australian Superstock 600cc rider Oscar McIntyre lost his life in a fatal crash during the 2012 Superstock 600cc race, a support race to the World Superbike opener. 

According to spokeswoman Ingrid Roepers, "Oscar was involved in a crash with two riders, Luke Burgess and Michael Lockhart, between turns two and three on the second lap of the 12-lap race." McIntyre was 17 years old. According to a statement from Motorcycling Australia, "McIntyre was immediately tended to by medical personnel after the incident, but his injuries proved fatal." Luke Burgess has reportedly been released from the circuit's medical centre, while Lockhart remains under observation with non life-threatening injuries.

World Superbike Returns to Indonesia; Sentul Circuit Joins Series in 2013

Phillip Island (Australia), Tuesday 21 February 2012: Maurizio Flammini, President of  Infront Motor Sports, signed a contract on February 15 to bring back the FIM Superbike World Championship to Indonesia, after a gap of 15 years, for five years starting in 2013.

World Superbike Set for Phillip Island

Phillip Island (Australia): The clock is ticking down in Australia towards the start of the 25th edition of the FIM Superbike World Championship. With 24 permanent riders on the grid and the participation of six manufacturers (Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki) the 2012 championship is sure to live up to expectations once again this year and with at least ten potential race winners, everything is set for another exciting season of World Superbike racing.

Anthony West Gets a Ride: Joins British Superbike for 2012

After losing his ride in MotoGP merely weeks ago, Australian Anthony West will be joining the Supersonic Racing squad in the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship.
