Daytona Wraps Up

Young talent dominated the field in yesterday’s  71st running of the Daytona 200 SportBike race at Daytona International Speedway. In only his third AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike start, 19 year-old Joey Pascarella took home the win aboard the Project 1 Atlanta/March of Dimes Yamaha YZF-R6, after a long fought battle with experienced youngster Cameron Beaubier (Graves Yamaha). Pascarella was able to hold the lead despite having  Beaubier and two other riders (Jason DiSalvo of Latus Motors Racing Triumphnand Martin Cardenas of GEICO Suzuki) on his tail at the conclusion of the 57-lap race. Pascarella's margin of victory was 0.048 over DiSalvo, with Beaubier edging out Martin Cardenas by photo finish.

Effenbert Liberty Abondons World Superstock 1000 Effort; McCormick Remains in Superbike

The Effenbert Liberty racing team has announced today that they will no longer be supporting their World Superstock 1000 effort, and will focus solely on World Superbike. Fortunately for Effenbert Liberty rider Brett McCormick, he was promoted to the premier class on the Effenbert Liberty squad before the announcment was made to withdraw from the support class.

Powersports Canada backs Nesbitt in Quest for CBR250R Cup

Teenage sensation Stacey Nesbitt wowed race fans by winning the 2011 CBR125 Cup and becoming the first female to win a Canadian national road racing championship, and she shows no signs of slowing down for 2012. Ottawa-based Powersports Canada has announed they will support Stacey for the 2012 season as she competes in the Canadian CBR250R Challenge Championship.
