Marc Marquez of the Repsol Honda Team won the Red Bull Indianapolis GP on Sunday, Aug. 18 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the 10th of 18 events in the 2013 MotoGP World Championship.
Rookie Marquez, from Spain, earned his third consecutive victory and fourth victory of the season on his Repsol Honda - both tying records for a first-year rider in the premier class set in 1978 by American Kenny Roberts, who went on to win the 500cc World Championship that year.

At the recent MotoGP event in Austin, Tex., Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez became the youngest-ever rider to win a premier-class Grand Prix race, displacing Freddie Spencer from the record he had held for more than 30 years. It was the young Spaniard's second MotoGP race, and after two rounds he is tied with reigning champion Jorge Lorenzo atop the point standings.

While Jorge Lorenzo took an early lead and walked away with a convincing victory, it was the late-race charge of Valentino Rossi to take second place from MotoGP rookie Marc Márquez and then the ensuing battle of veteran vs. newbie that highlighted the MotoGP season opener at Losail in Qatar.
