Highlighting the Viking VI is class-leading roominess for up to 6 occupants. The extra seating does not sacrifice any cargo space, and is ideal for agricultural, commercial and recreational applications where teamwork is the name of the game. Other significant features include optional electric power steering, Yamaha’s legendary Ultramatic CVT, On-Command 4WD, and independent suspension and disc brakes for all four wheels. The Viking VI is available in blue, red, green and camouflage colours.
The SE model receives all features of the EPS equipped version, along with full cast aluminum wheels, over fenders, sun top, sealed underseat storage, mud flaps, multi-mount cargo brackets and special matte silver paint scheme.
Peter Smallman-Tew, Vice President, Sales & Marketing Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd. commented, “Our new Viking VI was designed with a similar concept as the Viking, to outperform and outdo its competitors in the key areas customers look for in a side by side. These are things like roominess and comfort, while keeping our reputation in-tact for reliability, durability and the capability of handling a hard day’s work in rugged terrain.”
While Viking VI was launched today, the balance of the 2015 side by side models from Yamaha will be released in October. Smallman-Tew spoke with optimism about Yamaha’s upcoming launch schedule, “Over the next 15 months, we will expand our side by side lineup with two more introductions in categories where we currently don’t compete. Yamaha intends to be a major player in all segments and we’re very excited for what the future holds.”
The motorcycle group saw a series of new models introduced during the spring launch, including the YZ family of competition motocross motorcycles.
Each YZ comes with updated graphics and a mixture of small updates, while the two-stroke YZ125 and YZ250 are completely restyled with new, aggressive plastics.
Other motorcycle models released with a fresh look for 2015 include the Raider, Stryker, V-1300 series, V-Star 950 series, V-Star 650 series, V-Star 250, XT250, TW200, WR450F, TT-R110 and PW50.
At the same time, Yamaha’s Outdoor Power Equipment division has released three new models with the EF7200DE and diesel-powered EDL7000SDE and EDL 11000SDE generators.
The EF7200DE has an electric starter and auto choke for effortless push button starting while coming standard with wheels, fold-down/locking handles and battery.
The EDL7000SDE is a compact and lightweight diesel powered unit designed primarily for commercial applications. Its compact size and reduced noise levels also allow it to be used for emergency power backup and off grid applications.
The largest member of our diesel family of generators is the EDL11000SDE. Despite its high output, the compact design, low overall height and reduced noise levels make it a versatile performer.
