SANTA CRUZ, Calif., (Nov 8, 2016) – Zero Motorcycles, the global leader in electric motorcycle sales and technology, today announced its 2017 model line featuring as much as 19% more torque, up to 11% more power and the world’s first production electric motorcycle to exceed 200 miles on a single charge. Advancements in Zero’s proprietary Z-Force® powertrain include interior permanent magnet (IPM) motors with increased temperature thresholds and higher amperage motor controllers. Combined, they produce greater acceleration throughout the rev range and up to 116 ft-lb of instant torque on Zero SR and Zero DSR models—more than any gasoline-burning production 1,000cc sport bike.
“Zero’s 2017 lineup offers riders more power, versatility and options than ever before,” said Zero Motorcycles CTO Abe Askenazi. “For those interested in the most fun way of efficiently traversing their urban environment, we’ve released the new, lighter, Zero S and Zero DS ZF6.5 models. On the other end of the spectrum, our top of the line Zero SR and Zero DSR now deliver even more thrills with higher levels of asphalt-shredding torque, while still offering penny-per-mile fuel efficiency and no routine powertrain maintenance.”
The new Zero S ZF6.5 street bike and Zero DS ZF6.5 dual sport are ideal for navigating dense urban areas. These economical models feature a compact battery that sheds 95 pounds, offering more nimble handling and additional space for convenient, locking storage. For those seeking longer range, the Zero S and Zero SR ZF13.0 models equipped with the optional Power Tank accessory now exceed 100 miles on the highway and 200 miles in the city (based on standardized SAE J2982 riding range testing), the longest range of any production electric motorcycle.
Zero’s Z-Force® power packs are the most energy and power dense in the EV industry. For 2017, they feature more powerful processors and new engineering innovations in battery architecture that simplify cell interconnectivity, making the batteries even more robust and reliable. The advanced lithium-ion power packs are maintenance free, designed to exceed the life of the motorcycle, and are now backed by a five-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
“Zero is pushing electric motorcycle technology forward with longer range, higher performance and greater value,” said Todd Andersen, Zero’s VP of Marketing, Sales and Aftersales. “At a time when overall motorcycle industry sales are essentially flat, Zero’s growing network of incredible dealers are seeing significant volume growth and are bringing a wide range of new riders to the sport.”
Beyond their latest functional advantages, the Zero S, Zero SR, Zero DS, and Zero DSR models look better than ever. A new high-quality paint application process replaces the previous molded-in color body panels. The paint underwent extensive scratch and fade resistance testing to ensure exceptional durability. Complementing the painted “tank” area is a new locking, weather-resistant storage compartment. The result is added convenience and a premium look and feel.
Zero also announced an exciting new feature to its app for 2017 models. The free mobile app will enable owners to remotely update their motorcycle’s firmware, saving them a trip to the dealer. It can also be used to customize the motorcycle’s performance characteristics, allowing them to set preferences for maximum torque, top speed and regenerative braking.
From the streetfighter style of the Zero S, to the dual sport Zero DSR and the hooligan-friendly Zero FX and Zero FXS, Zero offers an electric motorcycle for every two-wheeled lifestyle. All 2017 Zeros come with a one-year membership in the American Motorcyclist Association, the world’s largest organization that advocates the rights of motorcyclists. Membership includes free roadside assistance.
2017 models arrive at authorized US Zero Motorcycles dealers in November 2016. Suggested retail prices range from $8,495 to $15,995. However, US buyers can take advantage of a 10% federal tax credit, making the effective price range from $7,645 to $14,395. Additional states offer incentives, such as California’s $900 rebate, that drop the effective prices even lower. The Charge Tank accessory has a suggested retail price of $1,995. The new, higher capacity ZF3.3 Power Tank lists for $2,695. Both options can now be factory-installed when the customer places an order.

There’s been a major step forward from the previous generation Scrambler in regards to engine, exhaust and rider focused technology - all combining to give more performance and a better riding experience from the new Street Scrambler.
Fitted with the critically acclaimed 900cc Bonneville high torque engine, the Street Scrambler delivers much more torque and power low down and in the mid-range, perfect for around town and light off-roading. A key update to the original Bonneville engine platform, the 900cc engine features a charismatic 270° firing interval for smooth, linear power delivery from the slick five-speed gearbox.
Enhanced throttle response from Triumph’s ride-by-wire fuel injection and cutting-edge liquid cooling system have been carefully integrated into the unique style of the Street Scrambler. This reduces fuel emissions and significantly improves fuel efficiency whilst providing smooth and precise drive for a higher level of control and rideability. This, combined with a new extended service interval of 10,000 miles (16,000km) dramatically reduces the overall cost of ownership.
The all new, more compact, high level twin Scrambler exhaust in beautiful stainless steel delivers a unique scrambler soundtrack, authentic scrambler style and features an intricate header run that cleverly integrates the cat box and is finished off with brushed stainless steel silencers with stylish contrasting black heat shields.
The stunning authentic Scrambler look comes complete with contemporary capability for maximum precision, control and safety and a wealth of advanced rider focused technology including:

With a dedicated new Scrambler chassis and suspension the Street Scrambler has had a major upgrade to its capability and has been given more dynamic Scrambler poise.
Just like the Street Twin, the new Street Scrambler chassis set-up is tuned to deliver a neutral and predictable ride. This, combined with the same confidence inspiring evolution to “stand-over” ergonomics for maneuverability and seat height considerably lower than the previous model, makes it a really accessible and fun bike for every type of rider.
Contributing to the commanding riding position and signature silhouette are the new model specific front forks and rear suspension units, which raise the back end for additional ride height, wider tapered aluminum handlebars and classic larger sized wire spoke wheels. The new Street Scrambler comes with a large 19’’ wheel on the front and 17’’ wheel on the rear both of which have stylish steel blacked out hubs and rims.
A further increase in specification comes from the new high value 2-piston sliding axial Nissin calliper with machined branding.
Add Even More Scrambler Style and Capability
Just like the Street Twin, the new Street Scrambler has been designed with personalization at its heart and has more than 150 accessories to deliver more rugged off road focus, more style and more everyday usability.
The off-road accessories include, adjustable rear piggy back FOX shocks with threaded preload adjustment and 24 position compression damping, black glass-filled nylon headlight grill with a pressed steel matt black finish bezel, and a forged and machined aluminum handlebar brace in a black anodized finish (fitted with a stylish black or brown vinyl bar pad embroidered with the Triumph logo).
For even more style the accessories range include slip on Vance and Hines single exit silencers, a traditional scrambler twin bench seat and 70mm diameter bar end peep mirrors in anodized black or clear aluminum with a laser etched Triumph logo.
For everyday usability there are internally wired heated grips available along with a steel fabricated center stand kit, an auxiliary power socket and cockpit mounting kit and highly durable engine bars.
* Please note that availability of the Vance & Hines silencers are governed by local market legislation

Husqvarna Motorcycles took the covers off its production VITPILEN 401 and SVARTPILEN 401 machines, while also introducing the all-new concept VITPILEN 401 AERO at the 2016 EICMA show held in Milan, Italy. These three new models form part of Husqvarna’s exciting new range of ‘Real Street’ motorcycles.
With the introduction of these three pure state-of-the-art models, Husqvarna Motorcycles takes an important step towards fulfilling its progressive vision of street motorcycling.
The first two models of the ‘Real Street’ range will be the VITPILEN 401 and SVARTPILEN 401, with Husqvarna Motorcycles fully focused on rolling them out at authorized dealers by late autumn 2017. Recognized and globally awarded for its unique design, the VITPILEN 401 presented at EICMA 2016 is set to hit the showrooms by late autumn 2017.

VITPILEN 401 AERO
Drawing inspiration from the brand’s iconic past the VITPILEN 401 AERO is a compact single-cylinder ‘Real Street’ concept motorcycle that ideally depicts Husqvarna’s interpretation of how a faired bike should look like.
Offering an innovative design approach, the VITPILEN 401 AERO concept features an aerodynamic fairing that seems to have been moulded by the wind itself. With every part of its windshield being purely technical, increased amounts of air are now channelled through to the engine to regulate cooling.
Compared to its VITPILEN 401 sibling, the all-new windshield gives the AERO a fuller appearance while allowing the front and the rear ends of the bike to perfectly match each other. With the design of the windshield now encouraging a more locked-in position, the rider’s helmet becomes part of the airflow in what is a fully immersive riding position.
The VITPILEN 401 and SVARTPILEN 401 production models, as well as the new VITPILEN 401 AERO concept motorcycle will be on show for the duration of the 74th EICMA in Milan on the Husqvarna Motorcycles booth, Hall 18 booth M60.

MILWAUKEE (May 26, 2016) – @harleydavidson // A new-generation Harley-Davidson® flat-track motorcycle is ready to race. The Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle® Factory Team is unleashing the XG750R, its first all-new flat track race bike in 44 years, to battle in fierce, adrenaline-filled competition on dirt ovals across the U.S. The XG750R will make its official competition debut Sunday, May 29, at the AMA Pro Flat Track Springfield Mile in Illinois.
Powered by the fuel-injected, liquid-cooled Harley-Davidson Revolution X™ V-Twin engine, the XG750R will be raced by Factory Team rider Davis Fisher on the AMA Pro Harley-Davidson GNC1 presented by Vance & Hines flat track series. The new XG750R motorcycle is strictly for race competition and will not be offered for sale at this time.
The new flat tracker is powered by the 750cc Revolution X™ V-Twin engine designed for the Harley-Davidson Street® 750, a motorcycle built for maximum urban maneuverability with rebellious Dark Custom™ attitude. Tuned for the track, this modified Revolution X engine will power the new XG750R in the extreme heat of competition as it fights to be first to the finish line.
The race-modified Revolution X engine and a racing frame for the XG750R were developed by Vance & Hines Motorsports. Vance & Hines also is the partner for the factory Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle®/Vance & Hines drag racing program where V-Rod® motorcycles have won eight of the past 12 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle drag racing championships.
“After decades of flat-track racing success behind the Harley-Davidson XR750 flat track motorcycle, we knew it was time to develop the next-generation Harley-Davidson to compete in one of the best spectator racing sports out there today,” said Kris Schoonover, Harley-Davidson racing manager.
Fisher, in his first season racing with the Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle Factory Team and a rookie on the GNC1 series, will be the first racer aboard the XG750R. The 18-year-old racer from Warren, Ore., won the 2015 AMA Pro GNC2 championship.
“We wanted a young rider with plenty of raw ability for the XG750R program, and Davis proved himself in the GNC2 class,” said Schoonover. “We are excited to have the opportunity to bring an emerging talent like Davis up to the GNC1 series to develop the new bike alongside an experienced champion like Brad Baker.”
Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle Factory Team rider Brad Baker, 23 years old and the 2013 AMA Pro Grand National Champion, will continue to race aboard the proven Harley-Davidson XR750 motorcycle while Fisher races the XG750R through its developmental stage.
“The XG750R has shown great potential in testing and the first few races this season,” said Schoonover. “But as with any new racing motorcycle, there will be work to do. We’re excited to continue testing the XG750R in real world competition, and as we make our way through the season, we will evaluate the performance of the bike and our factory riders to see if Baker might switch to the new bike.”
