On October 2nd, Brad Gavey and BGPR Schools hosted a track day at Race City Motorsports Park in Calgary, Alberta. This event was significant because it marked the end of 25 years of motorcycles at Race City.
Following a protracted and often public dispute with its landlord (the City of Calgary), the track will be permanently closed at the end of the 2011 season in order that seven acres of the 150-acre facility can be used to accommodate the city’s ring road project. The balance of the land has been designated to accommodate anticipated expansion requirements of nearby city land fill operations.
